Flexible Use and Community Engagement

The diversity of spaces is essential so that all users feel represented in public spaces and are thus more inclusive. Designing parks that can adapt to the community’s changing needs and activities fosters engagement. Public spaces should allow for flexible use, accommodating a variety of recreational, social, and cultural activities.

  • Adjust provisions according to the size of the park and the expected population density.
  • Green rest areas, playgrounds, sports areas, small «squares» for multipurpose use,….
  • Allow the space to be flexible to the citizen initiative to carry out recreational and social activities not initially planned
