Access to Parks

Parks are places where people go in different ways. Therefore, it is important to plan access well and include all ways of getting there in the design.

  • It must be accessible in different ways: on foot, in a wheelchair, bicycle, public transport, taxis, etc.
  • It is important to connect the park’s cycling routes as much as possible with the city’s bike lanes.
  • Adequately mark all accesses.
  • Place information boards or other Wayfinding strategies.
  • Limit the speed of vehicles on park access lanes as much as possible
