Design Accessible and Continuous Pathways

It is essential to ensure that urban beach areas have continuous, accessible pathways connecting key points with pedestrian areas, allowing safe and easy movement for all users

  • Accessible points along the beach should be linked by pedestrian paths that extend as far as possible toward the shoreline.
  • Pedestrian routes must meet the accessibility standards for width, height, and smoothness.
  • For areas with sand or unpaved surfaces, use materials such as boardwalks that ensure comfortable walking.
  • The pathways must be free of obstacles and have clear signage to guide users.
