Pool lifts are a key solution for ensuring access for individuals with reduced mobility. Their design and location should allow for safe and efficient use without the need for assistance. These devices must meet accessibility criteria to ensure their functionality in various conditions.
- They should be operable from both the deck and the water level without assistance.
- Controls must comply with accessibility standards and be positioned for easy access.
- They should be located where the water depth does not exceed 120 cm, except in fully deep pools.
- The seat should be positioned 40 cm from the edge of the pool and have an adjustable height between 40 and 50 cm.
- The width of the seat should be at least 45 cm.
- Footrests and armrests should be movable or removable to facilitate use.
- The lift must support a minimum weight of 136 kg.
- The seat should submerge at least 50 cm in the water to allow for a safe transition.
